Follow this written pattern for my Highland Cow Crochet Granny Square!

Abbreviations:
SC – Single Crochet
LS – Loop stitch
DC – Double Crochet
SL ST – Slip Stitch
HDC – Half Double Crochet
CH – Chain
The Highland Cow:
Foundation: CH 4 and SL ST into 1st Ch or MR to form a ring
Round 1: 8 SC into, SL ST to 1st ST (8 SC)
Round 2: CH 1, turn, (2 LS) into every ST, SL ST to 1st ST (12 LS)
Round 3: CH 1, turn, SC in every ST in the round, SL ST to 1st ST (12 SC)
Round 4: CH 1, turn, [LS, (2 LS)] * repeat between [ and ], SL ST to 1st ST (24 LS)
Round 5: CH 1, turn, SC in every ST in the round, SL ST to 1st ST (24 SC)
Round 6: CH 1, turn, [LS, LS, (2 LS)] * repeat between [ and ], SL ST to 1st ST (32 LS)
Round 7: CH 1, turn, SC in every ST in the round, SL ST to 1st ST (32 SC)
Round 8: CH 1, turn, [LS, LS, LS, (2 LS)] * repeat between [ and ], SL ST to 1st ST (40 LS)
Fasten off
The Border:
With the loops facing away from you, attach border color in any ST and CH 2 (does not count as ST)
Round 1: [2 DC, 3 HDC, 1 SC, 3 HDC, 2 DC, (2 DC, TR, 2 DC)] * repeat 3 more times, SL ST to 1ST DC (13 STS per side, 4 corner TR STS)
Round 2: Ch 2 (does not count as ST), turn, DC in same ST, 2 DC, [in the corner TR (2 DC, TR, 2 DC), DC in every ST along the side]* repeat until the place you began, SL ST to 1st DC of this round (17 DC per side, 4 corer TR STS)
Fasten off
The nose:
CH 4 and SL ST into 1st Ch or MR to form a ring
Round 1: CH 2 (does not count as ST), 8 HDC into ring, SL ST to 1st ST (8 STS)
Round 2: CH 1, (2 SC) in 1st 4 STS, (2 HDC) in last 4 STS (16 STS)
The horns (make 2):
CH 9, SC in 2nd ST from hook, 2 SC, 3 HDC, 2 DC, CH 1
cut yarn and leave a long tail as you will use this to sew the horn onto your square
